"My Mum and Dad had a fabulous time in your Victorian Yard.
Thanks and appreciation to the team who made it the

Victorian Life

What Victorian living history do you do?

Being a relatively new venture for us we are still developing ideas for our Victorian living history but so far we have done everything from fun & games to working class industry.

What displays do you offer?

We can offer a variety of Victorian displays, it's best to just have a chat with us about what you want. But, having said that, some of our main displays (the ones we do quite a bit) are:

  • Victorian Fun & Games
  • Victorian Social History
  • Cabinet of Curiosity
  • Fun & Games is, as the name suggests, all about Victorian fun! We have a variety of traditional games which can be used by visitors amongst the setting of our Victorian tents. This is always a popular display with many enjoying the toys and games - items children don't tend to play with in this day and age.

Social History is an umbrella term for our general Victorian living history. It covers working class displays right through to upper class displays. Our most recent of these displays was our Victorian Yard at the Ulverston Dickensian Festival. For this we dressed a small yard beside an old warehouse to be a living, breathing Victorian yard. This gave visitors a real sense of how many lived and worked at the time. The sights and smells all brought to life.

The Cabinet of Curiosity is more of an edition to an event. We have performed this as part of a Halloween event as well as alongside our own Victorian Yard. Our cabinet master, Dalton Mills, can show you around his curiosities, relaying a story for every item. Some stories are true and some, not so much but all our greatly entertaining.

Where have you performed these before?

We have performed these displays at many different sites across Cumbria from Wray Castle, as part of a Victorian Fair, to Furness Abbey and the streets of Ulverston.
